The great game – A diversion for hardcore Sherlock fans

Today, I was watching a Sherlock fan video and I looked at an image and said, “where the heck did that shot come from?” Having watched the shows so often, I usually remember which episode a shot comes from, but sometimes I get confused and it takes me a while to figure it out. Then I realized that I could make a game out of it.

I know that the serious Sherlock fans have watched those episodes so often that they can finish each other’s quotes. (e.g what comes next? “That’s not the John Watson I know”) Now I don’t know how many serious Sherlock fans read my blog, but this game is for you.

Look at the picture and give the following information:

1. What season and episode is it from?

2. What is happening in this scene?

3. What clues helped you figure this out.

Here is an example:

Sherlock and John

The answer would be:

Season 2, episode 1 Scandal in Belgravia

This happens near the beginning of the episode when John and Sherlock are summoned to Buckingham Palace and passive-aggressive Sherlock has refused to put on his clothes.

Really this was obvious because this is the only episode where Sherlock prances around in a sheet. Also John and Sherlock laughing over the absurdity of it all was very memorable.

O.K.

So are you ready? Here we go.

Number 1 – Something easy

rabbit glowing green

Number 2 – Hard

Do I see a tear?

Please leave a comment if you figure it out.

The game, my friends, is on!

  1. 1 – BASK – The Baskerville Lab, second trip. Sherlock’s just “rescued” John from the lab and gone in search of Dr Stapleton to make use of her microscope because Sherlock is convinced John was drugged with the deliriant from the sugar Sherlock stole from Henry’s kitchen. Sherlock uses the fact that the rabbit glows in the dark to ‘break’ Stapleton into relenting her animosity.

2 – GAME – Sherlock is speaking with Ian Monkford’s “widow,” trying to glean more information from her, posing as a childhood friend of Ian’s, shedding some crocodile tears over the loss of his “friend.”

  3. Number 1 – Bluebell the glow in the dark bunny, Season 2: The Hounds of Baskerville. In the lab at Baskerville.
Number 2 – The blood-stained car in Season 1: The Great Game. Sherlock interrogating wife of supposed ‘victim’.

    Absolutely correct!

  4. Winner! But could be more specific. HIGHLIGHT TO SEE THE ANSWER.

    -“Bluebell?”+”It’s a rabbit John!”-“Oh.” —> The Hounds of Baskerville.
Fake tears from The Great Game.

    Easy peasy honey, easy peasy…
But it was fun, really I like this.
