Poetry, Whatever, Writing

I wrote five good Haiku in less than an hour – Cool!

I was looking through my old writing folder when I found a page that I had written years ago.

It had a list of images that I had associated with particular books. Here is an example:

  • I remember Kafka and the man crawling up the wall as a cockroach.
  • Collette, I remember the woman in the cafe with her legs crossed and lipstick on the edge of her cigarette.
  • I remember Ged in the wizard of Earthsea landing on the island that wasn’t there and walking across it to find the other part of himself and naming it GED so that it fuses into his body and he is able to see the dark side of his own soul.

Since I knew that a Haiku captures an image, or a moment in time,
I thought that these would make great Haiku, so I set myself a goal to make
one for each of them.

Unfortunately, dinner is not ready, so this sprint must stop, but I wrote five decent
Haiku in an hour, so I’m pleased.
Hope you liked them.
